Situated in Coral Gables, this new construction of a single family residence is true to a Tropical Modern Style that responds to the elevations and character of the context. A thorough and conprehensive study was made in order to undertand le clean elevation lines of the context . The elevations of the home, specifically the street facing elevation have been designed and proportioned responding to the existing homes of the roof lines of the neighborings. The main features have been carefully modulated and proportioned in order to break up the massing and achieve a balanced design.

The main social areas are located in the first floor and are bathed by natural light by the presence of floor to ceiling sliding doors that open towards the rear of the property, and fully integrate with the landscape and pool area in the back yard.

On the second floor, the dormitories are developed as a split floor plan, having the kid’s bedrooms and the master bedroom separated by a hallway that overlooks to the vaulted space of the dining room area. The main staircase and circulation areas are complemented by natural light and transparency towards the sky and the natural environment.

The volumes have been enhanced by the use of warm, natural materials that are true to the tropical modern style, and allow for maximum integration with the environment.
